Pharmacies for visitors
Everything a visitor needs to know about pharmacies in Cyprus, in one place.
When they are open
Most pharmacies close at lunchtime, on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday. At those times only on-duty pharmacies open, until 22:00 in winter and 23:00 in summer.
A prescription from another EU country
A prescription issued in another EU country can be filled in Cyprus under EU rules, if the medicine is available here. As of May 2026, Cyprus also filled electronic prescriptions from Greece, Spain, Croatia and Poland through the European system.
Without a prescription
Prescription medicines are only sold with a doctor's prescription. At weekends and on public holidays, private doctors on call answer on 17000.
